Viva Las Vegas!

Vegas for many is a stop between San Francisco and Los Angeles. Here is an essential overview on what to capture in a 2-3 day visit!

Exhibitions:

Firstly, purchase your tickets from Tix4Tonight. They have multiple stands around the strip and will offer you a reasonable entry discount.

Titanic: The Exhibition

DCIM100GOPRO

Located in The Luxor Hotel, tickets for this exhibition usually cost $35, but $23 with Tix4Tonight. It is important to note straight away that no photography is permitted in the gallery. Upon entering the exhibition you will be handed a passenger card upon which at the conclusion you can see if the person (or family in my case) survived or died. For any Titanic followers, this museum is a must with real artefacts from salvage missions. You will also see the largest piece of the ship salvaged.

The Mob Museum

Located in downtown Las Vegas, tickets for this exhibition cost $20 with Tix4Tonight. Such is the history of Las Vegas, a visit to The Mob Museum is a must. Starting off on the third floor, some of the highlights of this museum is the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre Wall (above), learning about the Kefauver Hearings in the courtroom and open city, an insight into the mob in Vegas.

Day Trip - The Grand Canyon

As you can see from the above picture, the Grand Canyon is a must visit! I booked this tour with Grayline for $79 and this tour takes in the south rim. Word of caution, this is a 15 hour trip with a 6am start!

Downtown Vegas

It is worth exploring the Freemont Street Experience. When exploring downtown be sure to:

  • Free Spin: Take a free spin on the slots with a chance to win $2,500 at Binion’s and Four Queens.
  • Picture with $1,000,000: Take a picture with $1m cash at Binion’s.
Transportation

Uber is a great and convenient way to get around Vegas. Vegas is actually smaller than you might think and driver friendly to navigate around. Lyft is also popular.

For public transportation, the RTC service the entire city.
